SET PADOVA is a student-led association that equips young people with the expertise necessary for active participation in policy decision making.
MISSION
To promote youth participation in environmental and social policy decision-making.
Our association was established in September 2020 by a group of 13 second year master’s degree students from the Human Rights and Multilevel Governance (HRG) program at Università degli Studi di Padova (UniPD). We responded to a need for an intermediary to relay information between the student body, the faculty and the administration. Primarily operating in Padova with members and contributors located all over the world, SET Padova is a thriving example of the future of diversity, inclusivity, collaboration, globalization and the sustainability of human rights in Europe.
During our inaugural year, we conceptualized and facilitated activities such as the Road to Graduation, Community Conversations, and the Youth Action Festival, in addition to providing dozens of internships and volunteer opportunities during the pandemic. Our efforts are supported by a dedicated network of students, alumni, professors, administrators, and local organizations without whom we would not have been able to create such meaningful community supports for our members.
VISION
To be the pioneer trainers of young policy activists guided by human rights principles.
WE BELIEVE
IN AN EDUCATION SYSTEM THAT ENCOURAGES YOUNG PEOPLE TO APPLY KNOWLEDGE THROUGH INTERDISCIPLINARY COLLABORATIONS

OUR PURPOSE
Disheartened by the barriers to youth participation in policy decision-making concerning the future of our planet and societies; we aim to turn words into action by sparking the change that we want to see at higher education institutions and in government. The policies developed today require interdisciplinary, intergenerational and multi-level governance approaches to achieve equitable and sustainable outcomes.
