HUMAN RIGHTS

Through panel discussions, participants can contemplate the importance of providing safe spaces for marginalized communities to share their lived experiences. Their experiences will complement academic research supporting the benefits of a more diverse, inclusive and equitable society.

ENVIRONMENT

We discuss the effects of environmental inequalities between neighbourhoods in Padova; and are joined by the 2021 Enactus Italy National Competition winners, Enactus UniUd, to share how their youth-led team developed a CO2 emission reduction project.

ENGINEERING

Low female representation in STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) careers requires greater advocacy and intervention to encourage for inclusive innovative processes. Participants will hear from international experts in industrial engineering and ethical finance.

PARTNER SPOTLIGHT
Amici dei Popoli invited SET members to deliver workshops for their 4-week children's summer program. The Student Engagement Team designed and facilitated games and arts activities to educate the children about their human rights. Two especially thought-provoking games were an adaptation of the Asch conformity experiment illustrating the value of advocating for oneself, and the imitation game teaching about active listening. Following the workshops, participants received art supplies to creatively express their experiences. These works will be displayed at the festival on 23rd and 24th September.
